These large Wampum shell flowers are carved from natural quahog shell, showcasing extremely vibrant purple tones with striking white marbling. Each piece is shaped into a five‑petal flower, polished smooth, and measures approximately 2 x 2.5 inches. A small hole is drilled at the top so the flower can be strung as a pendant, added to a beaded necklace, or doubled with another bead for custom jewelry designs. The coloration is especially strong — deep purple from the inner lining of the quahog shell, traditionally gathered by Northeastern tribes such as the Wampanoag, Narragansett, Pequot, and Lenape.

Wampum carries the medicine of honor, memory, and sacred storytelling, once carved into beads and belts that recorded treaties, accomplishments, and the lives of the people. The deep purple comes from quahogs that lived in colder, deeper waters, where the shell grows richer and more powerful. In Lifted work, Wampum is a stone of ancestral connection, truth, and meaningful gifting, a reminder that beauty can also be history. These carved flowers feel like small pieces of living tradition — vibrant, intentional, and full of spirit — ready to be transformed into jewelry that honors both the past and the person who wears it.
